In the 21st century work has changed dramatically. In order to find better solutions to the challenges of today’s complex world, it is necessary that we collaborate with others – across boundaries of disciplines, teams or even organizations. This leads to more meetings, many of which are not very engaging or productive as an article in Harvard Business Review from July 2017 shows.

On the other hand, studies show that people who collaborate with others feel better about their work. This feeling helps them to be more productive and more persistent.
In this environment, approaches such as design thinking, scenario thinking, agile development, co-creation and open innovation are becoming ever more popular. These approaches have two things in common: they shape the experience of creative collaboration between diverse stakeholders and they work best, if someone facilitates them.
